A slight tilt, a movement across the surface or a variation in a colour transition. These are the marks left by handmade work and by the nature of the clay. Such marks make each ceramic object one of a kind and personal. This is why KUSUR is part of Soil & Oil's approach to making, one that leaves room for the material to have the last word.

KUSUR Flow is an aromatherapy set: a handmade, two-piece stoneware ceramic oil burner, a ceramic candle cup filled with a KUSUR candle and a 10 ml FLOW essential oil blend. The name KUSUR, Turkish for imperfection, does not speak of a mistake but of the trace of handwork: from slip casting in a mould to demoulding and hand finishing, each piece takes around 5 hours of work, and the tilts given by hand during finishing mean that no oil burner is ever identical to another.
There is no impatience in the soul of anthracite clay.
FLOW is a daily ritual that gathers a scattered day into a single point. From the moment it leaves the kiln, it is an original. Every touch on its surface is a record of the maker’s hand on that day. The weight of the anthracite tone holds the room still; with its colour, scent and texture, it sets a centre point. Light your oil burner for every moment you would like to photograph with your eyes and keep. And stay there. The FLOW blend holds the moment in place.
When to light it?
- In the morning, just before you settle into the day and begin
- Long working sessions: writing, reading, or whenever you want to be absorbed in a single task
- Late afternoons and moments of transition, when the day feels at its loudest
Set Contents
- FLOW Ceramic Oil Burner (anthracite; upper bowl + lower body, 2 pieces)
- FLOW Ceramic Candle Cup, filled with a KUSUR candle (anthracite; the candle burns for around 5 hours, and once it is finished you can place a standard tealight in the cup)
- FLOW Essential Oil Blend (10 ml)
FLOW Essential Oil Blend
Juniper Oil · Peppermint Oil · Bergamot Oil · Grapefruit Oil
Scent Profile: Earthy · Fresh · Woody · Light Citrus
| Oil | Origin | Scent Character |
|---|---|---|
| Juniper Oil | Juniperus communis berries | Resinous, woody and lightly spiced character |
| Peppermint Oil | Mentha piperita leaves | Cool, lively and distinctly fresh aroma |
|
Bergamot Oil |
Citrus bergamia peel | Fresh citrus with light floral notes |
| Grapefruit Oil | Citrus paradisi peel | Juicy, slightly bitter and lively citrus notes |
With every breath, a different note comes forward. Sometimes the resinous depth of juniper, sometimes the coolness of peppermint, sometimes the light citrus touch of bergamot… Rather than a single scent, FLOW carries a character you discover slowly.
Note: Fill the upper bowl halfway, with around 300 ml of warm water, and add 8–10 drops. Top up the water as it runs low; oil left in the bowl can burn and spoil the scent. After use, put out the candle and clean your oil burner.
- Dimensions: Upper bowl Ø15 × 5 cm · Lower body Ø19 × 7 cm · Total height approx. 12–13 cm
- Weight: Approx. 1 kg (upper bowl ~550 g, lower body ~450 g) · Approx. 1,450 g packed

Customer Experiences
When I first saw it, I did not even know what it was designed for, but I fell in love with its form. Then I learned the story behind it. Now I have more than a beautiful ceramic object: a keepsake that also carries other people’s stories and feelings.
I love how natural and light the scents are. A few drops are enough. I especially enjoy using it in the evenings when I am spending time at home.
When I first saw it, I did not realise it was an oil burner. When I am not using it, it sits in the living room as a decorative object. I love both its design and the way it works.
The packaging was truly careful; even though it is ceramic, I never felt uneasy opening the box. The piece itself is even more beautiful than in the photos. I usually use it in the evenings, and it has become a small habit at home.
